Shiniqua began dancing and Cheering at the age of 2 years old. During her years as a dancer, Shiniqua trained in many styles of dance including: Jazz, Tap, Clogging, Lyrical, Contemporary, River Dance, and Hip-Hop at Elaine’s Dance Company in Union, SC. During these years, Shiniqua studied and trained under many different choreographers. As a cheerleader, Shiniqua participated in recreational cheerleading until she became apart of her Middle School and High School Cheer Team. She was also apart of the Limestone College Cheerleading team where she got her experience in competitive cheerleading.

As a dancer, Shiniqua achieved many awards at both Regional and National competitions. She won many talent show awards and “Best Talent” awards. During her dance journey, Shiniqua audition for “So You Think You Can Dance” and started the process of opening her own studio as a freshman in college. Shiniqua has been successful as a choreographer, being awarded many choreography awards while working under Crystal Shippy as a dance instructor  at Elite Dance in Gaffney SC. She has attended several dance master classes and conventions which allowed her to experience all genres of dance. Shiniqua has a bachelor degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling. She has worked with children and adolescents for many many years. Shiniqua started a High School Dance team at Gaffney High School 3 years ago. Two years ago, the Elite Dance Owner made the decision to hang up her dancing Shoes, and Elite 92 Dance Academy was created by Shiniqua. Not only is she the owner of Elite 92 Dance Academy, GHS Dance Team Coach, she is also a Guidance Counselor.

Over the year, her students have grown into incredible dancers and confident dancers. As a studio owner and dance teacher, Shiniqua feels that it is important for her students to find an outlet, while feeling confident, motivated, and inspired by her love of dance. She is passionate and enjoys dancing. Shiniqua is wanting to continue to share her passion with her students while helping them grow in a comforting, supportive and encouraging environment. She is also big on creating forever friendships while sharing the love for dance.
